Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Associate Attorney position based in Hicksville, NY. Our firm seeks candidates to handle all aspects of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, depositions, motion practice and trial preparation and will work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve favorable outcomes and maintain the firm’s high standards of service. The candidate will manage a caseload involving automobile liability, premises liability, Labor Law and general negligence matters.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with the New York State Bar
• 1-5 years of litigation experience preferred (personal injury defense a plus)
• Strong research, writing and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage cases independently and collaboratively with a legal team
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Managing cases from inception through resolution
• Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, motions and discovery
• Taking and defending depositions
• Attending court conferences, motions and mediations
• Preparing cases for trial and assisting with trial proceedings
• Communicating with clients, opposing counsel and experts
