Job Title: Lease Administrator & Accounting Coordinator

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Lease Administrator & Accounting Coordinator to join our real estate team. This role reports to the Controller and supports both lease administration and core accounting functions, ensuring accurate data management, timely reporting, and smooth operational workflows. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working across departments on a variety of special projects.

Key Responsibilities

Lease Administration

  • Maintain and update lease records, abstracts, and critical dates within the property management system and working with third party lease abstraction team.
  • Review and interpret commercial lease agreements, amendments, and renewals.
  • Track and process rent escalations, options, expirations, and other key lease events.
  • Coordinate with property management, and accounting teams to ensure lease terms are accurately reflected in financial systems.

Accounting & Financial Support

  • Support accounts payable and receivable processes as needed.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting tasks.

Special Projects & Cross-Functional Support

  • Participate in system implementations, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
  • Support data cleanup, reporting enhancements, and workflow optimization projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline procedures and improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and project support as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in real estate, lease administration, or property accounting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of lease terminology and basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with property management or accounting software (MRI experience a plus).
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex lease and financial data.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Resourceful problem-solver who enjoys improving processes.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to accuracy
