4G/5G RAN Test Engineer IV – Plano, TX (Onsite)

Plano Texas- Fully onsite

Location: Plano Texas

No C2C, Only W2 candidates

We are looking for a senior-level RAN Test Engineer to support LTE & 5G product validation, feature testing, and performance analysis in a lab environment. This role is ideal for candidates with deep protocol knowledge and hands-on experience in RAN testing and troubleshooting.

What You Will Be Doing

• Develop and execute product and feature validation for LTE & 5G RAN systems
• Build test plans for new 3GPP features and validate them in lab environments
• Perform L1/L2 protocol analysis from UE and RAN perspectives
• Analyze requirements and convert them into system test cases and execution plans
• Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting of RAN features and issues
• Support customer review sessions and provide technical insights
• Lead junior engineers on test execution and system integration
• Work closely with cross-functional teams for product rollouts and validation
• Ensure customer commitments and timelines are met

What You Will Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EE/CS (Master’s preferred)
• 10–12+ years of experience in wireless telecom (RAN focus)
• Strong knowledge of 4G/5G RAN architecture and call processing
• Deep understanding of:
• PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP layers
• DL/UL scheduling, MIMO, beamforming, ENDC
• Experience with L1/L2 protocol analysis
• Strong knowledge of 3GPP standards (RAN & Core)
• Hands-on experience with:
• Feature validation and system testing
• Performance analysis and troubleshooting
• Experience with lab testing / IOT testing environments

Tools & Technologies

• Protocol analyzers, XCAL, QXDM, Wireshark
• Channel emulator, spectrum analyzer, signal generator
• EMS systems, network element management, software upgrades

Preferred

• Experience with Rel-16 / Rel-17 features
• Exposure to inter-vendor IOT scenarios
• Experience with software development or scripting
