Banking Program Manager (Multiple Openings)

Location: Newport News, Virginia

Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days/week onsite)

Rockwoods Inc. is seeking experienced Program Managers to support a major banking client in Virginia. This role is ideal for professionals with strong domain expertise in Retail Deposits, Mortgage & Consumer Lending, or Small Business Banking.

As a Program Manager, you will lead end-to-end delivery of large, cross-functional initiatives focused on enhancing customer experience, modernizing banking platforms, and improving operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with business, technology, operations, and compliance teams in a client-facing consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive delivery of complex banking or credit-union programs across assigned domains
• Manage intake, planning, dependencies, releases, and operational readiness
• Support modernization of core banking, digital, lending, and SMB platforms
• Partner with stakeholders across business, IT, risk, compliance, and operations
• Ensure alignment with banking and credit-union regulatory requirements
• Provide executive-level reporting on program status, risks, and mitigation plans
• Identify and manage risks, issues, and cross-workstream dependencies
• Promote continuous improvement, agile practices, and optimized customer journeys

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Program Management experience in banking or financial services
• Strong domain expertise in Deposits, Lending, or Small Business Banking
• Proven client-facing or consulting experience with excellent communication skills
