Established 35+ Year Premier Contractor Seeking Electrical Estimator in Elk Grove Village, IL An established electrical contractor in Elk Grove Village with over 35 years in business is seeking an Electrical Estimator with 3-5+ years of experience to join the team onsite. This role prepares detailed electrical construction estimates for commercial, light industrial, and multifamily projects under $500,000 while ensuring accuracy, code compliance, and effective coordination with general contractors, developers, suppliers, and internal staff.
Offer: Salary range: $100,000-$150,000+, contingent on experience

Qualifications: A minimum of 3-5+ years of electrical estimating experience.
Strong knowledge of Illinois and Chicago electrical codes is required.
Experience with commercial projects.
Experience with light industrial and multifamily projects is a plus.
Proficiency in Excel and Word is required, along with the ability to complete estimates without on-screen takeoff software.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required.
Professionalism and discretion when handling project information are required.
Ability to collaborate effectively with general contractors, developers, suppliers, and internal teams is required.
Responsibilities: Prepare detailed electrical construction estimates for commercial, light industrial, and multifamily projects under $500,000.
Review plans, specifications, and bid documents and submit RFIs for clarification when necessary.
Develop design/build estimates when required and prepare complete proposal letters or bid forms for general contractors and developers.
Attend pre-construction walkthroughs and project meetings as needed.
Prepare and distribute material takeoffs and requests for quotes to designated suppliers and negotiate pricing.
Create submittal packages upon project award and coordinate schedules with general contractors or developers.
Track and manage change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain current pricing, data units, and assemblies within the estimating database.
Strengthen and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
Provide additional estimating or project management support to the Chief Estimator as needed.
