Job Description

A well-established real estate law firm in Charleston is seeking an experienced Title Examiner to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a background in real estate titles, mortgage loan operations, escrow, or real estate law coordination. The position may be based out of any of the firm’s offices throughout the greater Charleston area.

Direct Hire | Full-Time | 100% Onsite

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify the validity of property titles
• Examine documentation including deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, contracts, and related records
• Conduct thorough research to gather all required title evidence
• Obtain and confirm legal descriptions of properties and the identities of all parties involved
• Analyze individual titles to identify restrictions, encumbrances, or defects
• Prepare detailed reports outlining any title issues or obstructions
• Collaborate with pre-closers to address title-related findings and requirements
• Enter and maintain accurate title information in SoftPro Select, including preparation of title binders, commitments, and lender-required documents

Qualifications:

• Associate degree required
• Minimum of 1 year of real estate paralegal experience
• Paralegal certification preferred but not required
• Proficiency with SoftPro or comparable legal/closing software
